You will be given the name of a designer at random, and your first task will be to research them and their work. This research will provide you with the majority of the material you will require to complete this brief.
You are then to design a magazine article about your designer and their work.
The magazine is Eye and you will be required to produce a front cover design and at least three double page spreads. You do not need to write the body copy, we will provide latin text for you to copy and paste into your layouts. You will have to write the headlines you use within your layout, however, and you will also have to source the images that are used to illustrate your article.
You will be provided with a magazine template in Indesign, and you will produce your outcomes using this application. If you are not yet familiar with Indesign this is the ideal opportunity to begin using what is the industry standard page layout application.
FINAL OUTCOMES
You are to produce:
One front cover design in Indesign using the template provided. You will save this as a PDF for uploadingto Moodle.
At least three double page spreads in Indesign using the template provided. You will save these as PDFs for uploading to Moodle.
Printed copies of your front cover and spreads.
You should document all of your research and developmental work into an annotated PowerPoint or PDF that will also be submitted for assessment.
